Secretlab Titan Evo 2022 review: A good gaming chair

Gaming chairs don’t do that Help you play better games as the manufacturers would like. They usually mimic the aesthetic of a racing seat and often come with more adjustment options than a standard cheap office chair. But there is a file Many Of these types of chairs, and not every company thinks so much about comfort or durability.

This is where Secretlab stands out. Founded in 2014 by former esports players Alaric Choo and Ian Ang, the company quickly built a reputation for quality by using better materials and offering a decent warranty (three years, but extendable to five years for $50 or through social media). Post your chair media). The new Titan Evo 2022 Series gaming chair is more refined than ever, with improved support and better durability.

Under seat changes

I had no problem assembling the Evo. The finished product features an angular design with a gold T on the backrest along with Secretlab logos, carbon fiber effect panels, and red stitching on black PU leather. It’s obviously a gaming chair, but it’s not as garish as many others. There is a wide range of other color schemes and finishes, all of which are more eye-catching than a regular office chair.

The first thing I noticed after jumping on the seat was the hardness of the cold treated foam. This type of foam keeps its shape for longer periods of time. It was annoying at first, but it was very supportive and proved comfortable for hours of continuous sitting.

Secretlab says the Titan Evo 2022 has been in development for two years. If you’ve seen its predecessors, you’ll wonder exactly what took two years because they look so similar. But the improvements are all under the upholstery. First, it now comes with more obvious sizing options: Small, Regular, and XL.

The company has also worked on magnets—the memory foam cushion, interchangeable padded armrests, and panels that hide the side rivets are magnetized, so you can easily take them off or put them on. The magnetic cushion is one of my favorite parts of this chair. It’s fun and eliminates the ugly belt around the back. It doesn’t slip off position easily, and the cooling gel layer inside is very welcome on a warm day.

The idea of the interchangeable magnetic armrests seemed even more ambiguous. The set that comes with the chair is absolutely fine, and I wondered why anyone would swap it out. But Secretlab then sent me some Technogel armrests to try, and…now I got them. They are amazing. Not only is it incredibly soft and supportive, but the gel also has a cooling effect. It will be an optional upgrade soon, but there is no information on pricing yet.

Most importantly, the Titan Evo offers greater tunability. Having more ways to adjust the chair means you can make it perfectly aligned with your body, helping you Sit comfortably and comfortably.

The discs on the left and right adjust the height and curvature of the lumbar support to fit your spine. This improved lumbar support is the best improvement over previous Secretlab chairs and encourages good posture. Leverages under the Titan Evo adjust the height and apply a tilt lock, and there’s a tilt lever on the right. I appreciate the wide tilt range, but if you bend backwards as you pull the lever, it can stick and then roll suddenly in an unpleasant fashion. The armrests are also fully adjustable. You can move it back and forth, side to side, adjust the height, and change the angle.
